SIXTY DEATHS IN U.S.A. 40,000 MEN MOBILISED TO KEEP STREETS CLEAR (Auat and N.Z. Cable) New York, Fqb. 27 The death roll throughout the United States reached 60 ag a blizzard swirled through the eastern States, addling at least- six to the victims of the week end snow, hail, rain, tornadoes and cold. Tlie south reports 17 dead because of tornadoes. Air accidents, fires and; train wrecks helped to make the death roll. In the metropolitan area of New York four deaths are reported, two from freezing, while tow score were injured, mostly by falls on slippery pavements and 40,000 men have been mobolssed to keep city streets clear, for which 2,000,000 dollars have been appropriated!.
