1 HAVE BEEN TOLD!

Another Yankee Story TOLD BY POLITICIAN HE WANTS TO KNOW WERE THE BERMUDAS OFFERED FOR BRITAIN’S WAR DEBT By Telegraph—Press Assn— Copyright (Aust. and N.Z. Cable) (Received February ‘2B, 9 a.in.) Washington, February 27 Mr Bonis Mc-Fadden, a Republican from Pennsylvania, told the House of Representatives that he believed the country had gone long enough without information as to what President Hoover and Premier Ramsay McDonald had talked about when they sat on a log at Rapidan last year. “I have been told,’’ Mr McFadden said, “and I think my information reliable, that Mr MacDonald offered to transfer the Bermuda Islands to the United State- in part payment of Britain’s war debt, and that, after consideration, Mr Hoover declined. I have also heard Mr Hoover’s reasons for declining, hut I think he should be allowed to make his own explanation.’ ’

(Mr Hoover was the Republican Party’s President.)
