STA TK S AIE X AT T E XI) BOARDS IX CONFERENCE (Per Press Association). Wellington. Sept. 27. The Conference of Electric Power Boards and Supply Authorities commenced today. Mr ,T- A. Nash. M.l\. the president, being in the chair. The delegates included Mrs. E- R. McCombs, AT.I*., who is chairman of the electrical committee of the Christchurch City Council. Premier Forlies. the lion. J. \Wiff\ener. and Mr. II- E. Holland. Leader of the Opposition, were present. Mr. Forbes said In* was quite willing to do anything reasonable to assist the association. Boards should always bear in mind the necessity of preventing overlapping and bringing down the costs to consumers by means of amalgamation an 1 other directions. M•. Kitchener said that with the completion of the Waitaki scheme New Zealand would be well provided with electricity supply. Mr- Holland said the association represented one of the greatest social services in the Dominion, and he believed that any reasonable requests ma le to the Premier would receive favourable consideration.
