A STRONG MARKET WITH A BIG CLEARANCE (Aust. and N.Z. Cable) Sydney, October 4. At the wool ales to-day 12,290 bales were offered, of which 11,771 were sold at auction. 1315 bfeiptg disposed of privately. There wag strong general competition from the Continent and .la pan. and to a lessor degree' from Yorkshire. The market displayed considerable strengh at the closing rates of last week. Greasy merino made up to I4d.
