FAILED TO ATTEND DRILL VOLUNTEER RESERVIST (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, J ulv 29. The first case of a mail failing to attend the drill parades call'd by tile Canterbury Division of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve wa 3 heard to-day when the Magistrate, Mr E. D. Mosley, after hearing the evidence, adjourned the case for three months to enable defendant. William Leonard Gobbe. to prove that lie wag willing to abide by his contract. The prosecutipg petty officer said that when the men made tlie contract to join rile division they were issued with a ki t and equipment valued at £lO.
