DEMAND FOR BREEDING EAVES FAT SHEEP RATES ADA'AN OK With a. smaller yarding, prices for- fat sheep* advanced appreciably a-t yesterday's stock sale. The yarding " J, S generally of better quality and butchers were encouraged to offer better competition. Fat hoggets, primegt quality, 12s 6d; prime, 10s Id; good, Sy: fair from 7s lid; fat two-teotiia, ICL 6d; fat ones, good donuwnl, primest, heavy, 10s 3d and 10s Gd; prime, 10s Id and lOg 2d ; good Ss to H* 6d ; fair from 7s 9d, Fat wethers-, primes!, 14 s3d; prime, 13s Od and 13s Od; good 12s 3d to 1.2 sßd ■ fair from 11s 4d. Very hoen. demand for breeding owes and the prices wore up probably 3s to 4s a. head on the rates offered a month agi. TWo-toot.k ewes r.w. Southdown rams 14s 6d; two-toeth to four-year ditto 17s 2d ; four and si v - tooth dir to .17L. Two-booth wctherh Bs. Wetlier hoggets, 7s Pd ; ewe liogets, good 10s 4d; others from 8s 4d.
Heavy yarding of dairy stock. with a. firm demand, especially for heifers close to profit. Good heifors, r.w.li. to £7, fairly goc<l lines at £o 5g to TO; or here, from £3 7s 6,1 to £5; heifers calved £3 JJg to £3 10s. Store Cattle.—Yearling Jersey heifers, 26s to £2 4s; Shorthorn lie i fat's, 37s 6d.
