GOVERNMENT HELP FOR WAIRARAPA FARMERS (Per Prese Association). Mastorton, June 9. A total of about X'aogQ, lias beer advanced by the Government to assist A\ airarapa farmers, whose Hoc k were suffering front a, shortage- ol winter fodder as a.-,result of the summer drought. Altogether aboht 200 farmers, from Opaki southwards, the great majority in the South AYairarapa, have,, received assistance, 'bout *9O ton s of liay have been purchased the hulk in Hastings, and about 100 toiu s in the Manawatu district. Most of this .was purchased in the stack and had to be pressed, but it should all 'be an route to tin farms by now.
