PIPER AND KAY
ARRIVAL AT AUCKLAND. (Per Press Association). Auckland. April 15. Flying Officer Kay and Piper, who flow from England to Australia, arrived by tlie L-limaroa to-day, and were enthusiastically welcomed by (be crowd nt tlie wharf and four 'planes over the shin. The airmen’s plane also arrived. MEN OF FEAV AVORDS Tlie civic reception to Flying Officers Piper and Kay was marked by great enthusiasm. In responding, Air Kay said lie did not expect to have a welcome like that given them. All the honour was duo to Mr. F C. Chichester, who was tli t > first New Zealander to cross. “AA'e did not anticipate any honour,” said Mr. Kay, “we were only flying home.” (Laughter and loud applause). Mr. Piper (hanked the Alayor and citizens for (heir great welcome, and also tli e Aero Club for it.s hearty invitation. “That's ail I can say,” lie concluded amidst laughter and applause.
