RESULT OF MR COBBE’S MISSION

The following statement with reference to the situation in Western Samoa was issued by tlie Prime Minister to-night:—-“In view of 11i e improved situation in Samoa reported by Mr Cobbe it will b e unnecessary for th e force of military polic e now- at Trentliam to proceed to tli e territory and it is accordingly being disbanded forthwith. Tlie Government amt the Administrator intend to exert every effort to ensure that the present promising condition of is fully maintained and nothing will he wanting on their part to meet any legitimate complaints by tlie Samoans, “it is to b e hoped that the misleading propaganda carried on from New Zealand, which' has done so much both to promote and to continue discord in Samoa will now cease.
