Sir Hubert, Wilkins states that he lias given up the use of the aeroplane in all further expeditions in the Arctic and Antartio Circles. “The aeroplane is suitable for preliminary reconnoitring,” he. said “itis not, however, of any- use, far making detailed surveys or scientific studies of land already discovered. No doubt a. great deal of reconnaissance work remains t Ol be dona both in the Arctic and in the Antarctic, but sofar as I am concerned 1 am through with flying in either place.’
