MR SKIPWITH EXPLAINS (Per Pres s Association* Dannevirke, March 20. In connection with a Press Association message regarding an action in which R. H. Skipwith secured judgment against the Poverty Bay Turf Club for the amount of his starting fees through the postponement of the meeting, Mr Skipwith explains that the report omits to state that he had offered to setlle the case on the basis of payment of one day’s fee and 3s expenses. This settlement, as stated by Mr Skipwith’s counsel during the hearing of the case, was refused by the club.
