POLITICS IN BRITAIN
A SIGNIFICANT EVENT MRS SNOWDEN’S PARTY (Aust. and N.Z. Cable) London, March 19. Important developments occurred yesterday apart from the Liberal meeting at which All Lloyd George presided. The most significant political event wa.s Airs Pliifip Snowden’s luncheon party at 11 Downing Street. The guests surprisingly included the most noted Freetraders in the country, headed by All- Lloyd George, and a number of prominent Labourites. It is understood they discussed .joint action in view of the 1 Conservative intention to fight the next general election on the- Protectionist issue. These developments are causing considerable speculation. The question most frequently asked is : Are the Liberals and Labourites preparing to join forces for the next election?
