POLO TOURNEY
OPENS IN FEILDING NEXT WEDNESDAY Arrangements are in hand for the 1030 Savile Cup polo tourney, which will commence in Feilding next Wednesday on the Jockey Club s property. The ground is in first class order and given favourable weather some very fast polo should be witnesed.
Of the 11 teams which have been nominated. Poverty Bay is a newcomer to Feilding and a formidable contestant for the cup. This team comprises four skilful players and their visit should make this year s tourney particularly interesting. In inter-club matches, the Homewood team has accounted for Hawke’s Bav and last week for W’airarapa, and it is expected that its improved form will be reflected in the matches to be played during next week.
