At Daytona Beach, Kaye Don, despite his inability t° compelfe the course, due to a fire breaking out in the super-chargor, gave the crowd of onlookers a demonstration of exceptional tenacity, continuing in a persistent attempt to achieve a speed record to-day until the ear filially refused to move. When the accumulated petrol and oil beneath the hood caught fire, a mechanic fain, up immediately and stopped the fire, but the supercharger was rendered useless .Th casting was oroken and 'a. now supercharger will be installed immediately. He hopes fo make further attempts to-morrow.
