A larg e deputation consisting of prominent business men and clergy, wainted on the Mayor to-day /with a. request, that steps be taken to correct the impression of an erroneous report published in the daily press to the effect that the people of Te Aroba wer e in favour of opening bowling greens and tennis courts in the local tourist domain on Sundays. It wa s stressed by tli e different speakers that th e report in question did not present the true feelings of the townspeople, who did not desire, as was suggested any laxity in Sabbath observance.
