KING AND QUEEN
TWENTY YEAR’S REIGN ANNIVERSARY OF ACCESSION (Aust. and N.Z. Cable) London, March 17. Recalling that Their Majesties will reach the twentieth anniversary of their accession on 6th May, the Daily News forecasts that occasion will be a red letter day. It is pointed out that the anniversary closely follows the King’s restoration to health, and coincides with the. beginning of the London season, in which the King hopes fully to share.
The King’s medical advisers are still anxious that he shall not be subjected to undue strain, but with proper rest before and after the ceremonial drive through part of London, and the thanksgiving service at Westminster Abbey, the celebration probably would meet, with their approval . The Majesties are likely to acknowledge the Royal Household’s faithful service by personal gifts and the Royal Medal for long and efficient service.
