MORE MEN TO BE ENGAGED (Per Press Association). Christchurch, March 1.7 “I have not yet inspected the work on the South Island Main Trunk railway, but intend doing so in the near future,” said the Minister of Railways, the Hon. W. B. Tavernet on Saturday. “Satisfactory progress is being made, and by next month the work will be pushed ahead faster. At present there are 50 men engaged on the Parnassus-Conway section, and at the end of the month many more men will be put on.”
