AFRICAN LOAN FAILS
THF. REASONS WHY ECONOMIC CONDITIONS (Aust. nnd N.Z. Cable) Received Alarch 8, 10.35 a.m. Capetown, March 7. The failure of the Union of Africa loan of six millions on the London market, the underwriters having to take up 75 per cent, of the scrip, is attributed in Government circles to a prejudice against Dominion loans because of Australia’s situation, as well as the world’s economic, conditions.
