CONCLUSION OF CONVENTION The W.C.T.U. District Convention was continued in Feilding yesterday, and concluded at midday,,. Mrs T. Young, of Palmerston North,, presided over cV good attendance of delegates. Miss Lee, of Otaki, gave a further report, and Mrs Singh presented tho balance! shoot, wh;ch was adopted. , Mrs Perymmn spoke inspiringly of the Forward Movement She explained that only.part®of the Million Shilling Fund was for the purchase of headquarters,' the main part being for the "Campaign Fund. The meeting diseussd plans of ivork, which included a- membership campaign, White Ribbon subscribers, Bands .of Hope, and now unions. The following resolution was carried: “That this meeting strongly protests against the publication of totalisator dividends, against the tele graph for the placing of money on the, totalisator, and against any further facilities for gambling.”

The Executive officers elected for .the year were: President; Mrs T. Young Palmerston North; vice-pre-sident, Mrs Pack; hon. secretary, Miss Edmed, Mangatainoka; lion treasurer, Mi’s H. Paterson, Pah&atua. .

In addition to these, all union. Presidents have a seat on the executive.

The convention closed with votes of thanks to Mrs Pervman, to the chair, to the Methodist Ladies’ Guild, and to the managers of the Presbvterian Church.
