Premier Afussolini is again in the limelight and once more he is asserting his power as a. dictator. His latest prohibition order is against beauty competitions, and the notorious Lido seaside resort is having a. check put upon its free and easy customs. Benito Afussolini has oven got the newspapers to expose and denounce the semi-naked fashions at resorts and has created a sensational reform. The female. Fascists have to observe the greatest decorousness in dress, with longer skirts than are fashionable, and working women now have to dress well below rather than -above the knee. The Rev. E. T. Cox, who lias just returned from a. tour of Europe, in a lecture at Stratford said the new Italy was a surprise and a delight. Premier Mussolini had made the nation. So great was the belief in Mussolini amongst the people of Italy that at the recent election 99 voted for the Government against every one for the opposition. Another critical visitor to Italy lias put it on record: “Afussolini has made mistakes, and will no doubt make more mistakes; but one must confess that the measure of his achievements lie spread around j m prosperous Italy of to-day.” On the matter of Italy' • and Fascism, which latter lie has used to such great effect, Afussolini himself wrote the other day: “We are inveterate individualists. Until the advent of Fascism we felt no. loyalty to the State. • Tbe main task of Fascism was therefore to inculcate that sense of discipline and loyalty which are the conditions of a. peaceful and prosperous corporate life.” And without discipline neither individual i nor State can progress.
