A GOOD SEASON

MINISTER- OPTIMISTIC (Per Press Association), Duainevirke, Feb. 13. The Hon. G. W. Forbes (Minister ol’ Agriculture) and the Hon. E. A. llansonx (Minister of Public Works) were entertained by .the Show Association to-day, the Mayor extending a. civic welcome, i Subsequently both Ministers delivered short addresses to the crowd on the grandstand at the show. Mr Forbes quote the gradings! of but- ' flier for export for the six months to the end of January and also cheese for «v similar period and said provided fairly normal conditions were maintaned for the remainder of the present season.- new production records were assured. Export values of both butter and cheese were satisfactory this .season. He ref erred to the sheep returns as showing the largest number recorded in tbo Dominion’s history, and pointed out the continued increase in breeding ewes. Ho also! made passing reference to the instructional and advisory services of the -Government to assist , all branches of rural industry, and the facilities offered aiding farmers to avail themselves of . all the latest- knowledge in sound, practical agricultural science.
