Three German balloonists- who as. cended at Leipzig oii Sunday on a short island cruise developed a flight across the North Sea and ended in a crash in Aberdeenshire to-day. Shortly' after ascending a storm arose and it was found impossible to descend. They were driven towards Holland, and then to the North Sea.

They drifted, helplessly along the English coast for 12 hours at nighL until in tkJfe early morning they saw the lights of Aberdeen. The. balloon occasionally' bumped against hilltops and finally' a tree overturned the basket, pitching out the occupants, who fortunately 7, were not injured. They found hospitality' oil a farm and the German Consul is arranging for tlieir return home.
