Tlio State Department lias made the follow ing nnouncomont: In the British note Sir Austen Chamberlain informs th,is Governmenir that Id is Majesty’s Governinent hiy; been in communication with the Dominions and Irnlia and has ascertained that they are ali m cordial agreement on the goner tl principle of a multi-lateral treaty tor the renunciation of war. Sir Austen added that he felt confident that the Dominions and the Government of India were prepared to accept the invitation to participate in the conclusion of such a treaty. The Fnitod States received thin information with the keenest. satisfaction and telegraphed instruction was today sent to the America# Ministers at. Ottawa and Dublin and the American Ambassador at London to deliver to-morrow notes inviting the Dominion Governments and the Government of Tndia to become the original parties to a multi-lntewi! treaty for the renunciation of war. The United States Government ha.; proposed the simultaneous publication of the rest of the invitations next, Friday morning.
