THE WORK OF RESCUE many bodies recovered (Aust. and N.Z. Cable). (Received -March 13, noon) Buenos Aires, March 12. A message from Santos states that 72 bodies, iiudiidin-g .23 >eliildren, have so far been recovered and that 1000' volunteers are working on the removal of the enormous quantity of dirt and rocks. Minor slides that are continuing to fall are causing anxiety. Monte Sorrat. from which the avalanche came is an eminence *OO feet above the city of Santos, Brazil s great coffee export port. The summit of Monte Serrat is reached by a funicular railway, and from there a magnificent view can ho obtained of the town and harbour and surroundings.
