SALVAGE OF STEAMER
GISBORNE CLAIM SETTLED. (Per Press Association) Gisborne, June LB. All amicable settlement has. been reached in the dispute between the Gisborne Harbour Board and Tne New Zealand Shipping Company over The salvage of the liner Northumberland.
The hoard has agreed to accept the company’s cheque for £Bl9l in ‘Tfrll settlement of its claims, both on f *». om) behalf and for its employees. The -.settlement was reached as a result of the hoard agreeing to withdraw its claim for £2OOO for time lost in llio prosecution of the harbour works while the plant was diverted to the assistance of the Northumberland and for £7OO.
