News has been received of the death of the Rev. T. N. Griffin, a well known Methodist minister/at his residence' at Papanui, Christchurch. Mr Griffin received his training for the ministry at Didsbury College, England, and came to New Zealand in 1884. He began his work at Paparoa, and from 1880 to 1889 was in flic Sandon and Feilding circuit. He concluded his active ministry Jat Dannevirke in 1.918, since when he has resided in ChristchurchV His wife predeceased him about a year ago.

Members of the Wanganui Education Board' were deeply shocked last evening when they learned that between the adjournment of the afternoon meeting and the hour for resumption in the evening the wife of their esteemed chairman, Mr W. A. Collins, has passed away at her home at Kai fwi, where she had resided for MO years. The deceased lady had been undergoing hospital treatment, following a severe operation, and was believed to he progressing towards recovery. Yesterday, however, she suffered a fatal relapse. Slie had a family of three sons and three'daughters: Mrs W. Parquhar, of Waihi; Mrs M. .f. Crawley, of Kaetihi ; Miss TCfsie Collins, of Kai fwi; Mr H. Collins, of Te Aroha; Mr C. W. Collins, of Kai fwi; and Kenneth, who is at tho Wellington Training College. The Education Board, after passing a vote of sympathy, adjourned until !)..'!() o'clock this morning as a mark of respect to tho deceased lady, and sympathy with the bereaved family.
