At the trial of Robert Cameron on a charge of murdering Ernest Dunham, the Crown case was that the woman Pnokeridge quarrelled with Cameron, with whom she bad been living, and went to live with Dunham. The shooting was the result of Cameron trying to get Puekoridge to return to him. Cameron, in a statement from the dock, said he was not aware the revolver was loaded. He had no tooling against Dunham, his object being to protect him from Pnokeridge. He wanted to get out of her way as he considered her a public nuisance. A FOR TEN ATE PRISONER. The jury found Cameron guilty of manslaughter of Dunham. The judge commented that Hiey had taken a very merciful view of the case. The offence was very close. Lo murder. He sentenced Cameron to seven years’ penal servitude.
