SATURDAY’S REP. GAMES COMBINED TEAM IN WELLINGTON. On Saturday the Manawatu-IToro-ulienua combined team played the Wellington rep. team on Athletic Park. The ground was a quagmire, and tile match was mostly a mud scramble. Wellington won by 19 points to 11. Wellington first scored with a penalty kick, and then added an unconverted try. Maire then scored for Combined, seizing the bail behind the scrum and cutting round on the blind side. Then Wellington scored again, and several, more times, and the first spell ended with the city team leading by 19 points to 3. In t lie second spell Moynilmn scored for Combined, and later Broughton crossed under tile bar, his try being converted by Cowie. The game ended with the scores: 'Wellington 19, Combined 11. Mr C. E. Bradley controlled the game.

MANAWATU DEFEAT TE KAWAU.

This game was played at Palmerston, the Mnnawatu team winning by 45 to 3. As tlie scores show, Te Hawaii were completely outclassed. ROGERS CUP. In tile semi-finals for the Dodgers C#ip “sudden death” competition, Linton defeated Feilding juniors by 3 points to 5. The result was rather unexpected, for Feilding were very confident of winning. In_ the first spell Jenkins scored for Feilding and the try was converted. Terry crossed for Linton, and the spell ended: Feilding 5, Linton 3. Towards the close of the second spell, which was very willing, Terry scored again for Linton, the major points being added —Linton 8, Feilding 5. Old Boys defeated Kia Toa by 19 points to 3. Linton and Kia Toa will now play off in the final. SCHOOL GAME. Wellington Training College defeated Palmerston High School team by 12 points to 8, after a strenuous battle. Training College had much the advantage in weight. THIRD GRADE. Ivit Toa defeated Palmerston Old Boys by 14 points to 3, thus winning the grade championship.

COLYTON DEFEAT WAU UNA

When the Waituna fifteen walked on to the ground at C'olyum on Saturday, for the last game in the championship competition, they had not suffered defeat this season. Gol>ton proved able to do what none ot the other teams in the district had accomplished, winning the game l>y eight points to nil. The match was a very strenuous one throughout. Both teams were an out, and players put their very be into the contest. Though the Lolyton lino was not pierced, «aitum, made some dangerous attacks, and Colytou had to fight for their lives to hold off their opponents. Colytou scored two tries, one being converted. Crenfeldt got across from a determined attack, and later Alex. Waldin, who played a line game as usual, got over. Both forwards and backs played up so well that it is hard to individualise. Though defeated, Wattuna were by no means disgraced, tor they were playing against a team at the top of their form, putting every ounce into tlio game. . Mr AI Desmond liad the whistle.
