THE BONUS REDUCTIONS. EFFECT IN CHRISTCHURCH. (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, May 10. The bonus.reduction promises to be fairly general in Christchurch. The men employed at Borthwiek’s works at Belfast say that no reduction has yet been made, and ns the season will last only another month, it is likely the reduction will not bo made this season. • MINERS’ FEDERATION. Wellington, May IG. 1 The annual conference of delegates O' the Miners’ Federation will be held in Wellington in July. It is refilled that a proposal for the reconstruction of the Fedeintion will be dismissed by the conference. WORKS CLOSED DOWN. MEN REFUSE REDUCED WAGE. Gisborne, May 17. The Tokomaru Bay works of the Gisborne Slicopfarmers’ Company closed down to-day for the winter. This decision was the result of tno action of the employees in refusing to work at the reduced scale of pay authorised by the Arbitration Court.
