A Notable Irdian, Air Scrinivasa Sastri, who made such a fine appeal ibis week for equality with other peoples of the British Empire for the people of India, and who is to visit New Zealand presently, is a notable son of India. So notable, indeed, that ho is a Privy Councillor. He has represented India during the past 12 months at the Imperial Conference, at the Lei gue of Nations Geneva meeting, and at the Washington Conference. Unless th» troubled condition of india interferes with his t resent plans, ho will visit Australia this month to confer with the Commonwealth and State authorities on ti e status of Indian residents. Then in June he conies over to New Zealand, and will also visit Samoa and Fiji, in the interests of the Indian settlers and workers. He is in the Liberal Party and before taking to politics was a leading educationist.
