The final section of the Geddes report will be published during the week-end. It- deals with the post office, stationery olfice, foreign affairs and law expenses, and recommends savings amounting to about sixteen millions. Mr Chamberlain, in the House of Commons, said the Government had allocated one day next week for the discussion of the Geddes report as a whole, when he would make a considered statement. In reply to a question, Colonel Amer.v stated that the Government will shortly introduce legislation to enable a large number of ex-service men who had applied too late to receive assistance under the scheme which terminated on December 31, to obtain assistance to help them to emigrate to the Dominions.
