A committee meeting held on 'I uesday night, Mr A. Stuart presiding, further arrangements for the Show on March 1 were made.

Eginont A. and P. Association wrote protesting sgaiust the imposition of amusement tax on gate takings and on members’ tickets, which amounts to Is 9d in the £, and asked support of a resolution, “That this Asoscintion resents along with other Associations the imposition of the amusement tax on the grounds that A. and P. Shows are held for educational purposes and not for amusement.” The resolution was approved unanimously. Messrs E. 0. Haddock and S. G. Perry were elected members. Mi- W. S. Glenn, M.P., forwarded a telegram from the Hon. W. F. Massey: Glad to be _ able to inform you that I am arranging to accede to your request to open Marton A. and P. Show on first proximo* Will arrive by New Plymouth mail on that date. The secretary reported having received the following entries: Horses, 254; cattle, 77- sheep, 360; dogs 31; pigs, 15; school exhibits, 116. Entries in the home industries, grain and seed, farm and garden produce classes close at 10 a.m. on the morning of the Show, at which hour they must all be staged. Schedules will he posted on application. Several further applications were received for side show space, including one from the monkey sideway, which is considered the best of its kind in existence. . Mr E.
