A public meeting held here last night to discuss the programme for the celebrations of peace passed the folloiving motion; That a message be sent from tbe citizens of HaAvera to Premier Massey asking that the necessary legislation be passed or such steps taken by Order-in-Council to enable all banks to close on the day for the celebration of peace, and that the head offices of the banks be requested to support this resolution. (
