The Union Steamship Company was advised this afternoon that the steamers sent in quest of the Wai totara lnidj after praclically two days' search iv the vicinity, failed to see any sign of the vessel. Captain Ritchie is of opinion that the Waitotara must have foundered. The steamers sent to try to assist in the rescue have been ordered by cable to return lo their original destinations.
