Miss Ray, who has boon appointed assistant teacher at Sancton, commenced duty to-day. The death is announced of Mr Hans Larson, ox-Mayor of West-port, and a member of various local bodies. Mr D. B. Copland, an assistant master at the Christchurch Boys' High School, has been appointed Lecturer on History and Economics in the Tasmanian University at Hobart.
