SATISFIED AYITH AYIMBORNE
London, August 8. The Times correspondent iv Dublin says that Lord AVimborue's appointment as Lord-Lieutenant satisfies Ireland. Personally he is popular. Mr Asquith stated, in the House of Comoiis to-day, that Mr Duke, the Chief Secretary of Ireland, was paying attention to the question of the compensation of the relatives of innocent civilians killed iv the Irish rebellion. Mr Forster, Financial pecrclairy to the War OHice, announced that 3829 rifles had been surrendered in Ireland.
