NO RACING TILL END OF WAR.
COUNTRY CLUB'S EXAMPLE
Emmaville (N.S.AY.) Aug. 5. At the annual meeting of the VegeI table Creek Jockey Club last night a proposal to hold a race meeting was defeated. Mr J. J. Loonies moved that during the currency of the war fhe club refrain from organising meetings, and devote itself to assisting patriotic funds. The motion was carried by one vote. The opinion was'expressed that racing was not conducive to enlistment. All money in hand was voted to the local Returned Soldiers' Fund.
