A communique says-; There are no changes on the European front offensive. Attacks by several enemy detachments in tbe Kalaposava region, south-east of Lake Urcnia, were frustrated.
General Russky (who has been on the sick-list for a year) has been appointed Commander-in-Chief of the northern armies, in succession to General Kuropatkin.

A German communique states: North of the Dneister the Russians, after a sanguinary defeat on the 14th, have made only resultless and weak attacks. AA r e captured a height north of Kapul.
