Weddel and Co. send us their dairy produce weekly market report, 'da.ted London January 7, as follows: Buttei..—The market is a good deal firmer, and prices for choicest descriptions of .salted butter have recovered fully 4s to 6s per owt. from the lowest prices recorded a week .ago. Owing to the unexpected prohibition of butter exports from France, ihe market for unsalted. butter generally has advanced about 6s to 8s per cwt.. Danish.—Quotations last week for delivery during the'present week were most irregular, and some very low prices were -accepted. During the last few days, however, the market nas firmed up considerably, and prices have now advanced 4s to 6s per cwt., the market closing linn, at oiu< quotations. New Zealand.—On.ing _o the uiicer. lain state of the market and to the fact that Danish butter was freely offered last week at practically tho same prices as New Zealand, 'there was considerable pressure to sell the Turakina's cargo .and numerous sales were put through at from 140s up to 1445. The market has .since sloadied, and values are now fully 4s to 6s per cwt. better. Australian.—The market is a. great deal firmer, especially for unsalted, which is very scarce and in strong demand. Values for best salted descriptions range from 140s up to 140s with lui'salted at 150s up to 1545.' Latest cables advise good rains in New South AVales and Queensland, and in ali proba-lnlity tlio Government, prohibition on butler exports will be removed some l.iuio this month. Argentine.—-Hi. market has been very slow until within Ihe last feudays, when .owing to the cessation ol exports from Eranec, quite, an active demand has sprung up for unsalted descriptions, and the market closes firm at our quotations.
