ATHLETIC CLUB'S SPORTS. The gate takings at the above Club's Easter gathering were equal to tho previous year's. There would havo been a great crowd but for the wet morning. The fields in the running events wero good and tho finishes close aud exciting, showing that the handicappers had done their work woll. The chopping and sawing events wero as popular as ever, as shown by the crowd around the ring while, those events were in progress. Tho hunters' cup was won by S, J. Havward's Neil Kelly, ridden by Hughie Osborne, and the applause of the spectators showed what a popular win it was. A shilling subscription was taken up, and in a few minutes a sufficient sum was collected to send a cable to "Sam," who is with tho troops in Egypt, and apprize him of his horse's win. A crowded house greeted Miss Baddcley and her party at the concert in tho evening, and the audience showed their appreciation of the treat provided. The thanks of tho Athletic Club are clue to the ladies who had chargo of tho luncheon and refreshment booth, as it isjnainly owing to their efforts that a substantial sum will be available to hand to tho Belgian relief fund.
