The New Zealand Trade; Review (Wellington) says: It is yet too soon after the ond of the quarter for any returns to be available, but the bank returns,will probably be published in a few days. AYe may safely anticipate that these figures will disclose a "-very considerable improvement in tho supply of fuuds available. There is ample evidence that the scale of importation is being restricted, partly through inability to procure the goods, Avhilo ou the other hand our •Exports are maintaining a total value well in excess of any previous season. The result of this is a heavy balance on our trading, and this is providing an ample supply of funds for alPordinary purposes. Prices for all good investment stocks are keeping very firm, with good demand, showing that there is a fairly large amount of capital seeking investment-. Exports for the month of March oi our principal classes of produce showed a decided decline, owing to only a few vessels being despatched, but there will be more vessels during the. current month, and we expect to see tho volume of our exports, more especially of meat, fairly well maintained for tho time of year.
