BANK OF AUSTRALASIA. BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH. —COPYRIGHT
PEE PBEBS ASSOCIATION. (Received October 3, 10 a.m.) London, October 2. Lord George Hamilton, presiding afc the annual meetng of the Bank of Australasia, referring to the war, said Australasia was at a great advantage, as a large proportion of its exports consisted of foodstuffs which will command enhanced prices. Finer classes of wool had received a check, but there was a great demand for wool suitably for khaki, etc. If the war was prolonged, the requirements" for warm clothing would be likely to extend thy demand for other classes of wool. The , provision made in recent years to meet droughts or local financial crises would be available to meet the consequences of war. The position of tho bank, he concluded, is very strong.
