At the inquiry into the Caillaux affair, Princess Mesagne Estredere, a contributor to the Figaro, gave evidence that when Madame Caillaux was Madame Dupre three letters were destroyed. > Madame, however, kept the photographs. AVhen M. Calmette heard that, he offered 20,000 francs for the photographs, which was declined. When the letter signed by " Jo " was published in the Figaro, Madame was justified in supposing that the two qthers were in M. Calmette's possession. Isidore Delara, .he well known composer, and Madame Chartran (the famous_ painter's widow) confirmed the princess' evidence.
