THE MONEY MARKET.

Tho New Zealand Trade Review (Wellington), issued yesterday, says: Very little alteration has taken place in financial conditions since the time of our last issue. Tho supply of money is still somewhat light, but we do not gather that the supply is any less than it was a month ago, and there is no feeling of a pinch. The imports and exports for the year tq March 31 do not compare well with previous years. Following are the total values, apart from specie, for the past three years to Marcli 31: Exports, 1911-12 £19,003,851, 1910-11 £21,497,187.. 1909-10 £21,----467,387; imports, 1911-12 £19,774,517, 1910-11 £17,385,066, 1909-10 £14,----773,821. An increase of five millions in imports in two years, -with exports decreased nearly two and a half millions, is not a satisfactory position, and this is tho main factor in hardening the money market. A reduction in the scale of importation is needed to bring back easier conditions. STRATFORD STOCK SALE. Store cows 32s to £3 17s, forward cows £4 2s to £4 13s, fat cows £5 to £5 Bs, weaners (small) 23s 6d, weanre steers 30s 6d to 36s 6d, weaner heifers (showing color) 35s to 45s 6d, 20-m'onths heifers in calf £3 6s to £3 10s, 20-months empty heifers 58s 6d, bulls £ 3to £4 15s, lambs ss. A nice lino of 16 well-grown Shorthorn weaner heifers realised 39 sto a local, purchaser. HAWKE'S BAY STOCK SALES.'
