PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. 'A LITTLE GIRL'S DEATH. Dunedin, March 16. A distressing accident occurred which ended fatally in Athol Place last evening. Hasrel E. Harrison, aged 8 years, was playing with a number of other children and was running after a little girl when she ran into a lamp-post. ■ She dropped to the ground, and was carried home. She commenced to vomit, and Dr. t Bu-tement found that .she was suffering from concussion of the brain. She gradually sank, and died shortly before 7 o'clock this morning. GOLF AND WIRELESS WATCH. Christchurch, March 18. The Sew Zealand golf championships will be held on the Ohristehureh Club's links at Shirley in September tin's year. According to a letter received by a resident of Christchurch from a German friend, the, pocket wireless apparatus mentioned in yesterday's cablegram is the invention of Monsignor Cerebotani, the Papal Muncio at Munich. The apparatus ,is « pocket receiver, like a large watch. BTG LAND BALLOT. Wanganui, March 17. The. land ballot for the Rangatatau and > South Wainiarino sections is proceeding. There is a. large number of applicants. Successful applicants are 'beirig debarred from subsequent ballots. In opening the proceedings, the Commissioner said he knew that dummyism was beins; attempted at these 'ballots, ia-nd he would fossick out before confirming the results on March 31.
