Tbe House of Representatives, in Committee on naval affairs, approved of the appropriation of half a million dollars to raise the wreck of tho battleship Maine in tlie harbour of Havana,. The wreck, the mysterious sinking of which in tho Cuban harbour was one of the causes of the war between Spain and U.S.A., is reported to be a menace to navigation.
