THE PHILADELPHIA STRIKE.

The Federal Government has consented to mediate in the American Firemen's strike at Philadelphia. The strikers have issued a proclamation calling on all working men in the country to withdraw their deposits from the Banks. Tlie strikers have £2,000,000 banked in Philadelphia alone '. The demand of the American railway firemen for the control of promotion has been rejected.
