Lillis, a wealthy banker, whom he suspected of intriguing with his wife, has caused a sensation in America. Lillis was a bachelor, whose age was stated to be 97 years. A maid in Gudaliy's employ stated that she heard a souffle, and found Lilis on the floor with a rope round his neck and feet. The body was stripped from the waist downwards. A chauffeur, who was assisting Cudahv, placed a revolver at her head. She thereupon fled. l"he police came in response to a telephone message sent by Cudahys wife. The latter states that" the- attack Oil Lillis was the culmination of a long course of Cuclahy's brutality against her. Cudahy was born in Kilkenny, Ireland. He has been twice married, his second wife being formerly a Miss Maraarot O'Neil, of Chicago. „„ •' ~ London, March 8. Ihe Daily Mail's New York correspondent states that Cudahy's motor car was found abandoned three miles lroin home. It is evident that Lillis was entrapped. The State Prosecutor has issued a warrant for Cudahy's arrest. Lillis and Cudahy were previously intimate friends. (Received March 9, 9 a.m.) London, March 8. .Renter s correspondent states that Lillis does not intend to prosecute C'udahy; therefore the latter will only be charged with a breach of the peace.
