BISHOP WALLIS.

DELIGHTED WITH PAN-ANGLI-CAN CONGRESS. BIG MISSION FOR NEW ZEALAND. Bisop Wallis, who returned to Wellington with Mrs Wallis from abroad by tho Warrimoo on Tuesday night, spoke very enthusiastically to a N.Z. Times man of the PanAnglican Congress. The proceedings, he said, were full of hope and confidence in the work that lay before the Church. He was pressed with continual inquiries during the conference as to the effect and working of the Arbitration Act and the question of the minimum wage in New Zealand. Our attempts to solre the difficulties existing the world over between capital and labour had attracted considerable interest, and those dignitaries of the Church whose interest carries them into the field of economics kept Bishop Wallis busy with many inquiries. "There is a piece of news," added his Lordship. "Machinery has been set in motion for th© promotion of a big mission that is to come to New Zealand next year in connection with the work of the Church. A strong committee has been formed^ and the Archbishop of Canterbury himself is taking an active interest in the project. I expect to furnish all details later." Whilst in England, Bishop Wallis made arrangements to bring out six new clergymen to take up parish work in New Zealand. The names at present available of the gentlemen who have been selected are the Revs. Phillips, Page, Sola, and Stent.
