The weather was fine overhead, but there was a tricky wind of 8 to 18 degrees, and gusty. Rifleman Henry, of Opaki Rifle Club, was the winner of the championship. He shot very consist tently, winning three of the four championship matches. Deihl, of Dannevirke, who came third, is only twenty-one years of age.
